RESPONSABILITY – PISCO SMELTER AND REFINERY

As well as being one of the most modern in Latin America using eco-friendly technology, the smelting and refining plant is characterized by its socially responsible manner.

The plant has implemented a comprehensive training program for the workers’ wives, where they are taught to perform various crafts, as well as important aspects related to health, hygiene and family education. There is also a plan for continuous improvement of the infrastructure of the staff dwellings, annual monitoring of their state of health, and the implementation of occupational health programs.

We also promote the program «Leer es estar adelante» («Reading means being ahead»), which benefits 88 teachers and 2,325 students from 16 schools in Pisco and Chincha. This program aims to raise levels of reading comprehension of students in public schools from the 3rd to the 6th grade.
